LASAL History La Salvacion National High School (LSNHS is one of the six public secondary schools in the municipality of Tigaon, Camarines Sur. It is situated approximately in a one hectare lot in Barangay Salvacion, agricultural area, around 4.5 kilometers south of Tigaon proper, 200 meters away from Gov. Jose Fuentebella High-way and an hour travel by land from Naga City.
LSNHS was founded in 1994 thru the initiative of Hon. Rogelio B. Buffe and the Council together with Mr. Joel B. Dela Vega, first school head, thru its benefactors Hon. Arnulfo P. Fuentebella, Congressman of third district of Camarines Sur and others. It was known as Salvacion School Annex. Due to the confusion that arise with regards to the name of school, the school administration decided to include the word LA on its name making is La Salvacion National High School. In December 22, 1998 House Bill 4001, “An Act Converting La Salvacion High School into a La Salvacion National High School” Passed into law known as Republic Act 8850. An Act converting La Salvacion National High School. This development lead to the separation of LSNHS from its Mother School Salvacion High School at Talojongon, Tigaon, Camarines Sur. On March 30, 1998 LSNHS held its first Commencement Exercises with 36 pioneer graduates. Its enrollment goes up in a very rapid pace from 36 in S/Y 1995; reached its peak in 2011-2002 with 575 enrollees, 472 students in S/Y 2008-2009, 445 S/Y 2009-2010, 525 S/Y 2010-2011, 563 in S/Y 2011-2012, 566 in S/Y 2012-2013, 605 in S/Y 2013-2014, 679 in S/Y 2014-2015 and 665 S/Y 2015-2016. On June 21, 2004 it opened its annex school at Huyo-huyon, Tigaon, Camarines Sur known as Huyonhuyon High School with Mrs. Preciosa R. Dela Vega as School Head. Almost 22 years of existence the school has produced a number of successful graduates and professionals. The school has been managed by seven administrators from Mr. David M. Durante, Mr. Joel B. Dela Vega, Dr. Lilia A. Moyores, Mr. Fernando C. Macaraig, Mrs. Preciosa R. Dela Vega, Mr. Joel B. Dela Vega and Mrs. Felomina C. Vergara at present. Mrs. Preciosa R. Dela Vega initiated the following programs: The Open High School former Project EASE – S/Y 2011-2012. She further intensifies the TESDA Programs Offering the following Courses: Basic Computer Literacy, Computer Programming NC IV, Computer Hardware Servicing NC II, Adobe Photoshop, Bookkeeping, Baking, Electronics, Driving and English Proficiency producing more or less 600 graduates with TESDA Certificates . Under her terms, she continue the existing programs such as the Open High School which caters the needs of students not only in Tigaon but in neighboring towns. She vows to bring improvements to LSNHS not only in Academics, Physical Facilities but also in the increase of workforce by hiring new permanent teachers to serve better to its clientele. Truly, LSNHS is such an Institution to look up to every Lasalian students and graduates should be proud of. |
